Sexual Reproductive Health Rights

The Youth Division is working on Sexual Reproductive Health Rights under the project titled:

“Strengthening Coordination to Increase Access of Adolescents and Young People to Services Project”

The main goal of the project is to improve access to sexual and reproductive health information and services for young people on the continent.

It also has the following objectives:

  1. Increasing advocacy and visibility for youth SRHR activities at continental level

  2. Enhancing monitoring, reporting and evaluation of youth SRHR activities at continental, regional and country levels

  3. Additional resources will be mobilised by the partners to implement the action plan

The project is a result of a youth consultation where delegates at the pre-conference of the 3rd International Conference on Family Planning (ICFP) held from the 12th to the 15th of November 2013. This programme is part of the Youth Decade Plan of Action 2009- 2018 (DPoA), a roadmap of the African Youth Charter, which spells out concrete actions Africa needs to accelerate youth development in the continent.
